Desert of the Real Economic Analysis
Economic and Investment Analysis from a former Punk Rocker and Healthcare Economist. Economic analysis of international issues, domestic matters, and anything that could affect your investment portfolio in this Secular Bear Market. But there is more, lots more. From the Fed to funky 70's cinema, everything is up for trenchant comment and sophomoric smear. Funny, irreverant, often irrelevant. Welcome to the Desert of the Real!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE DESERT OF THE REAL!
The Desert of the Real is two years old today. It started on September 17, 2005, with this voluminous and tendentious post, “Welcome to the Desert of the Real—Real Investment Returns in a Dry Season” October 2005(copyright) Robert C. Feightner. This post was a reprint of the Author's newsletter, which has since been "merged" into the blog.
On this day, it might be of benefit to reflect a bit on the off-and-on two years of blogging.
First, thanks to all the readers. The site (DOTR) does have a loyal readership. Recently, it has averaged about 61 visits a day.
The site meter often identifies the referring page to the DOTR. The non-economics topics (motorcycles, paranormal) often generate more traffic than the economics and investment topics, but that will not cause the Author to change the basic nature of the site. Economics, finance and investment will remain the primary focus.
The site meter also identifies the search terms that directed a reader to the blog. Many of the older topics on risk analysis, finance, and international trade generate some activity. The Author may repost some of the more frequently viewed posts.
SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE DESERT OF THE REAL!
