The Fifith Anniversary Guild Cinema Film Noir Series

It was a hot afternoon, and I can still remember the smell of honeysuckle all along that street. How could I have known that murder can sometimes smell like honeysuckle? Maybe you would have known, Keyes, the minute she mentioned accident insurance, but I didn't. I felt like a million.

Walter Neff (Fred MacMurray) in the 1944 Film "Double Indemnity".

Yesterday (June 20th)was the first day in the Guild Cinema's annual Film Noir Series. This series runs 20 days and began with the Billy Wilder classic "Double Indemnity". Every bill is a double feature, so in addition to fine cinema, it is a good value. And if you show up for the first film of the day, admission is only $5.

Sharing the bill with Double Indemnity is The Hidden Room (a/k/a) The Obsession. This is a film by Edward Dmytryk produced in England. Clever, well directed and tightly written. And stuffed with sardonic humor. Ir runs through today. (June 21st).

The bill is a long one and there is too much to mention. So check out the link and carve out some time to enjoy the biggest Film Noir series in the Southwest.

THE FORCES THAT TRIP UP THE HUMAN HEART ARE THE FORCES THAT PARCH THE LANDSCAPE IN THE DESERT OF THE REAL!
