IGNORANCE CANNOT BE DIGNIFIED

Living in a rural state and having grown up in a rural state, the Author is confronted with the legacy of ignorance. People that have never spent a day in college (or at least learning anything in college, or even learning anything in high school) can refute in one sentence an entire body of learned scholarly consensus. They can do it without reference to citation, research or logic.

They just say they don't believe the work of people that know infinitely more than they do or have spent entire careers in fields developing knowledge bases. Quite a feat.

SO WHAT DO YOU DO?

Talking to them is like barking back at a howling dog. Reasoning with them is even less productive. Yet they are the electorate. They will vote against their personal interests to coddle false beliefs that have been engendered for several generations by interest groups they could not parse and identify.

They are the reason this country is slipping into irrelevancy. And they, the automatons of idealogy, are the reason. Go short and stay short. They are nothing if not consistently incorrect.

AIN'T GOD BEEN GOOD TO AMERICA!
