VICTORY FROM THE JAWS OF POLICY FAILURE?

Republican operatives see an opportunity to obfuscate their North Korean policy failures in the wake of the People's Democractic Republic of Korea (If you can say that with a straight face try saying Republican moral values) detonation of a nuclear device.

Republicans hope that the device detonation will swing the national spotlight back toward national security, an issue where Republicans believe they hold a political edge. This despite a recent Washington Post poll showing that 53% of Americans disapprove of Bush's "handling of terrorism".

And despite the fact that the PDRK went nuclear in the smug face of Bush's inability to match bellicose rhetoric with anything approximating results.

Listen to this broadside from Christopher Hill, Bush's cheif "negotiatior" with the Pyongyang regime: "Pyongyang would [will] have to choose between having nuclear weapons and having a future.

Perhaps the Bush administration and the congressinal Republicans should find ironic warning in Hill's puffing. If there is to be no future, it is the Republicans that will find this to be their fate.

STRONG, TALL AND USUALLY CORRECT IN THE DESERT OF THE REAL!
